In 2005 Roberto Calasso published “La follia che viene dalle ninfe”, a collection of essays on the influence of the nymphs in art and literature, which is discussed through authors ranging from Socrates to Nabokov.
He also mentions photography as when he offers an impressive interpretation of the photographer in Hitchcock’s “Rear window” or when, in another chapter, he speaks about Chatwin’s pictures and he attributes the author with a “glance’s serendipity”.
Nymphs still survive in visual arts!

Nel 2005 Roberto Calasso ha pubblicato “La follia che viene dalla ninfe”, un insieme di saggi sull’influenza delle ninfe nell’arte e nella letteratura che fa riferimento ad autori che vanno da Socrate a Nabokov.
Fra essi, alcuni citano la fotografia come quando l’autore offre un’interpretazione molto suggestiva della figura del fotografo ne “La finestra sul cortile” di Hitchcock oppure quando, in un altro capitolo, parla delle fotografie di Chatwin e gli attribuisce una “serendipity dello sguardo”.
